  • Real Madrid vs Valencia saw Los Blancos produce a masterclass
  • Karim Benzema scored two sensational goals in the second half
  • Substitute Marco Asensio also got on the score-sheet with his first touch of the game

Real Madrid vs Valencia match lived up to its pre-match razzmatazz as both teams battled hard right from the first blast of the whistle, but it was the hosts that claimed all three points.

Rodrigo thought he had opened the scoring for the visitors in the 21st minute, but VAR reversed the goal citing an offside against Maximilliano Gomez.

Real Madrid pressed on upfront with Eden hazard and Karim Benzema combining well to threaten the Valencia defence but somehow they could not put the ball at the back of the net and both teams went into the break 0-0.

Zinedine Zidane’s men delivered a masterclass in the second half getting three goals – with the first coming from Karim Benzema.

Hazard moved with the ball forward from the left wing, before playing a one-two with Modric and touching it first time into the path of Benzema’s run into the box, where the Frenchman side-foots home.

Substitute Marco Asensio scored the second goal with his first touch of the game in the 74th minute after Ferland Mendy drove towards the left-hand byline and cuts the ball back to the penalty spot, where the Spaniard turned it past Cillessen and into the far corner.

Benzema completed his brace with a sensational volley into the top corner three minutes from full time. It ended Real Madrid 3-0 Valencia.

With the victory, Real Madrid now have 62 points from 29 matches and are just two points behind league leaders Barcelona.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that Barcelona vs Leganes ended 2-0 in favour of the home side as La Blaugrana return to their home ground after the three months break.

Ansu Fati and Lionel Messi scored in each half of the match to hand the La Liga champions the much-needed win to remain top the table.

Fati did not make a mistake in the 42nd minute as his right-foot shot went through the legs of Rodrigo Tarin to beat Ivan Cuellar in goal to make it 1-0.

The Barca captain converted a spot-kick to double the lead for the champions in the 69 minute.
