Broken Egg By Victory Gburuke N

This lovely fruit
Between my north and south pole
Is my spring of water yet to be drank
A beautiful gate unopened
An ecstasy unfelt
A city awaiting commission
And a ripe fruit awaiting harvest,

I’ve tamed this fruit
From infancy to adulthood
In my glorious golden garden
Countless of time
I’ve chased away hungry farmers
Who seek to harvest this fruit
Hopefully anticipating that ordained harvest day,
When it shall be eaten
In humble and holy mind
Like a holy communion,

Yet in all my wait
A stranger has sneaked in
And consumed the holy fruit in my garden,
This pampered egg has broken
And a holy water pours from the shell,
It was eaten in hurry and force
Course be unto this farmer
Who has defiled the sanity of my sacred garden.
